The Austin Peay Percussion Collective’s mission is to foster a thriving percussion studio by generating funding and creating outreach opportunities that engage schools and communities, cultivating interest and recruitment for the future of percussion at Austin Peay.
Performance Opportunities Members get priority access to perform in concerts, recitals, and special events hosted or sponsored by the organization. This can include solo features, ensemble performances, collaborative projects, and appearances at community or outreach events. Performance opportunities are designed to support artistic growth, build confidence, and give members real-world experience in front of live audiences. Voice in Instrument Funding Decisions Members have a direct say in which instruments, equipment, or resources the studio invests in. Through surveys, meetings, or voting sessions, members can advocate for specific needs. Whether that’s upgrading existing instruments, purchasing new ones, or expanding access to underrepresented sections. This ensures funding decisions reflect the collective priorities of the community. Outreach & Community Engagement Members can participate in outreach initiatives that bring music beyond traditional performance spaces. This may include school visits, community concerts, workshops, demonstrations, or partnerships with local organizations. Outreach opportunities allow members to share their skills, inspire others, and strengthen the organization’s connection to the broader community while promoting accessibility and appreciation for music.
